King Corn Ride
August 13, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Enjoy great company, conversation and beautiful country roads on this classic Heartland Club ride near Waupaca. We’ll depart from the Clear Water Harbor Waterfront Restaurant in King, ride for a couple of hours on quaint, rural roads, then return to the Clear Water Harbor for lunch. What a great way to spend a lazy, summer Sunday in August!!
Enjoy riding on some of the prettiest country roads in central Wisconsin, primarily south of Waupaca. Routes of about 35 miles, 43 miles and 53 miles are planned with shorter routes also available. Maps will be provided. Stick around after the ride for lunch (Dutch treat) at the Harbor Bar; they have great hamburgers and we’ll have great conversation! Please be ready to ride by 9:00 am. Maps and cue sheets will be provided showing each route before the ride…or download them now.
Food and Drinks:
The Harbor Bar has a delightful harbor-side deck including bar and restaurant with outside seating. Enjoy their famous hamburgers and fries (lunch on your own), while watching the harbor activity and visiting with friends.
Everyone can help to make all club rides more enjoyable by finding other club riders of about the same speed to ride with. Get to know these riders and call them well in advance to make sure you have someone to enjoy the ride with.
Things to Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourself back to the start point. You may need to rely on a map if you fall back from, or get out in front of, the group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our Club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, certified helmets are required to be worn when riding at all Heartland sponsored events.
