Giro d’ Grazies
June 4 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The 13th Annual Giro d’Grazies starts from and ends at Grazies Italian Grill on Highway 10 East in Stevens Point. This Giro d’Grazies continues a long tradition of a late May Italian restaurant ride formerly know as Olini’s Afternoon Ride & Eats inaugurated by Heartland’s own Steve McClaran.
There will be one approximately 25-30 mile ride (about 2 hours) in a loop near Stevens Point. While we take the name for this ride from that famous pro race in Italy in it final stages this weekend, it is our vision that we will stay together as a “peloton” at an easy pace, socialize as we ride, and enjoy the springtime sights and smells. Depending on the weather and the winds, we will head N/S/E/W into the winds, and come back with a tailwind!
Food and Drinks:
Those who wish to stay and enjoy fine Italian cuisine are encouraged to eat with us at Grazies “Dutch treat” after the ride. Even if you can’t make the ride, come join us at Grazies at 4:30 PM.
Things to Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourself back to the start point. You may need to rely on a map if you fall back from, or get out in front of, the group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our Club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, certified helmets are required to be worn when riding at all Heartland sponsored events.
