Circuit de la Pizza

Event: The Circuit de Pizza returns this year at a new location –-
Mickey’s at 100 Second St. N. in Stevens Point. The ride leaves at 2:00 PM
on Sunday, September 7th. When we return you can join your fellow cyclists for
some of the best thin crust pizza in Stevens Point, or other Italian specialties,
vino or cold beer and beverages. (Dutch treat). Mickey’s opens at 4:00 PM and
is smoke-free.
Packer fans note: Packers do not play this Sunday. Their season starts
the next day on Monday Night!
Routes: Routes of about 34 (que sheet) and 51 (que sheet) miles will be mapped out. There will be no
gravel roads on the route. Both routes will go north and east of Stevens Point
featuring a crossing of the scenic Lake DuBay causeways. Maps will be provided
prior to the ride.
Avoid Riding Alone: Everyone can help to make all Club rides
more enjoyable by finding other riders of about the same speed
to ride with. Get to know these riders and call them well in advance
to make sure you have someone to enjoy the ride with.
Things to Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on a map (not provided) if you fall back from, or get out in front of our group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, certified helmets are required to be worn when riding at all Heartland sponsored events.
