King Corn Ride
(Famous Corn Roast / Live Music)

Sunday, August 10th
9:00 a.m.

Clear Water Harbor Restaurant and Bar
Hwy QQ, King/Waupaca

Directions (from Stevens Point):
Take Hwy 10 East, 25+ miles to Hwy 54, Waupaca. Go west on 54 about one block to the stoplight at QQ; go left on QQ at the light about 1 or 2 miles until you get to the Harbor Bar, which is on the right. Park in the lot across the street from the bar.

The Event: Choose a ride of the length and speed that fits you. We'll ride until about noon. Stick around after the ride for the corn roast at the Harbor Bar; they have great brats and hamburgers to go with the free roasted corn, and we'll have wonderful conversation while listening to the music of Cooper Box*

The Ride: Please be ready to ride by 9:00 am. Rides of about 25 miles, 30 miles and around 50 miles. Maps will be provided showing each route before the ride. Or download and print it now.

Avoid Riding Alone: Everyone can help to make all club rides more enjoyable by finding other club riders of about the same speed to ride with. Get to know these riders and call them well in advance to make sure you have someone to enjoy the ride with.

* Cooper Box, Master of Accordion-Swamp Rock: "Zydeco-Polka-Rock" blended together to make a great rockin' sound. Both male & female lead vocals, an accordion master at the helm, and a groovin' rhythm section. On the floating stage off the waterfront deck from 3 pm to 7 pm. No cover charge.

Things to Remember:
  • The course will not be marked on the road.
  • You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out in front of your group.
  • Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
  • And as always, riding with an approved helmet is required.
