NEW EVENT!
Central Waters Brewery Ride

Saturday, July 12th
12:00 p.m.

Central Waters Brewing Company
Amherst, Wisconsin

Time: Let's gather at 11:45 pm, so we can leave promptly at noon.

The Event: Now for something different: a Saturday afternoon ride followed by some excellent brews in the Tap Room at the smoke-free Central Waters Brewery in Amherst! This will be a relaxed, social ride and bring-your-own-and -share snacks. The idea is to enjoy a leisurely ride in the hills and country roads of eastern Portage County, returning to the Brewery for that great Central Waters beer and snacks. If the weather is inclement, please come anyway to enjoy the beer, snacks, and the socializing.

The Ride: We'll have a 100K (about 60 mile) route with short cuts for shorter routes. Maps will be available day of ride.    The long route may have road markings. No "sag wagon" will be provided, so you will need to be able to fix your own mechanical problems on the road, although if you ride with others, help will be close by.

Food and Drink: Please bring some snacks (chips, nuts, etc.) to share with all for us to eat with the great Central Waters beer.

Directions: The ride will start at the new Central Waters Brewery, Amherst, WI. From Hwy 10, exit Hwy B and turn left into Amherst. At the 4 way stop on Main St, turn right. Turn left on Washington St (Hwy V) just before the train bridge. Continue up the hill turning right on Allen St. The brewery is at the end of the street.

Things to Remember:
  • The course may not be marked on the road.
  • You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out in front of your group.
  • Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
  • Avoid Riding Alone: Everyone can help to make all Club rides more enjoyable by finding other Club riders of about the same speed to ride with. Get to know these riders and call them well in advance to make sure you have someone to enjoy the ride with.
  • And as always, certified helmets are required to be worn when riding at all Heartland sponsored events.
