Waupaca Wamble
Sunday ~ August 1st 9:30 am
Start Keith Murie's Place N1262 East Road, Waupaca, WI
54981
Route: Approximately 55, 34, and 24 mile
options. See Wisconsins newest covered bridge, the Pickle Factory,
Wisconsins longest bar, the town of Rural (on the national register of
historic places,) Poy Sippi (home of the Last Sippi) and some quiet, scenic roads. Rural and Poy Sippi are on the long option.
Food: Well serve
up some chili, salad and buns after the ride. Bring your own beverages. There
will be plenty of food, but if youd like to bring something special, that
would be great. Desserts are always welcome.
What to bring: We are on a small lake, so swimming, fishing and canoeing are available, bring what you need.
Directions: Coming from Appleton or Stevens Point on Highway
10: Exit highway 22 south and K. Go South - away from Waupaca -
about ½ mile, turn left at light onto County K. You will go down a
curving hill, then take a right curve around a mill pond. The second left
past that curve is East Road - turn left. Go about 2 ¼ miles on East
Rd - youll see a private road on the left called Songbird Place - turn
left there - we are the first place on the left..
Coming from Stevens Point on Highway 54: Turn right on
county Q. Follow Q to QQ, turn right. Turn left on highway 22. Turn
right at next light - highway K. See above directions after line three
Note - these are the safe directions, there are slightly shorter
ways to come if you are adventurous and have a detailed map. Call me at if you need help or have questions.
Things to Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the
start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out
in front of your group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining
single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows
respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose
to ride without a helmet.
