Maps
and Cue Sheets: Maps and cue sheets will be provided for each ride.
Avoid Riding Alone: Everyone can help to make all club
rides more enjoyable by finding other club riders of about the same speed to
ride with. Get to know these riders and call them well in advance to make sure
you have someone to enjoy the ride with.
Directions: Hwy
10 to Hwy A near Amherst. South on Hwy A about 3 miles to Hwy D. East on Hwy D
about one mile. Driveway is on left before creek. Fire # is 10094.
Volunteers: Parking: We need volunteers to
help park cars when people arrive. 15 mile and 25 Mile Ride Leader &
Sag Personnel: Bike-sag volunteers are needed to change/patch a tire and do
other minor repairs. Car-sag volunteers dont necessarily need repair
skills. They can simply transport riders with mechanical or other problems back
to the start. Please call Rolf or Barb if you would like to volunteer to help
with one of the shorter rides. Ride leaders might also be helpful. Map reading
ability is about the only requirement for the ride leaders. Please Note:
The ride will be held with or without sag personnel and ride leaders.
Pancake Potluck: 1 o'clock on the banks of the Tomorrow River.
Bring your own beverages, dishes & utensils. Meat, egg dishes, juice and
fruit are good items to bring to pass. Oven is available to heat things up and
we can cook breakfast sausage.
Cool Down: If its
hot you may want to come prepared to take a cool dip in the Tomorrow River or
Spring Creek or even do some tubing. Things to
Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the
start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out
in front of your group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining
single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows
respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose
to ride without a helmet.
