Tour de Trillium

Sunday, May 23rd
Sunset Lake County Park
(County Highway MM)
9:00 a.m.

Spring has finally sprung... saw my first Trillium today, it was leaning and dancing drastically to the lee side of our spring's frequent blowing gale, yet somehow, still managed looking fresh and proud. This year marks the 8th annual Tour de Trillium and as usual will start and finish at Sunset Lake County Park, beginning at 9:00 am. Bagels from Temptation of the Hearth and some refreshments will be on hand and riders are encouraged to bring other complimentary food/drink items and enjoy hanging out in the park before and after the ride.

Rides of 15, 30 and 55 miles are planned and maps and cue sheets will be provided. This year the Society du Tour de Trillium is pleased to announce, Plover resident and active club member, Edith Pankowski as the 2004 Tour "DNR deputized for the Day" Ranger. So please direct all naturalist inquires to Edith and she'll be happy to share with you her vast botanical experience! And finally, remember the Trillium is a state protected species, so look... no touch! Have a great, safe ride and remember to share the road!

Things to Remember:
  • The course will not be marked on the road.
  • You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out in front of your group.
  • Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
  • And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose to ride without a helmet.
