POLONIA CAFE RIDE

A Ride Through the Polish Heritage Highway Terrain

Sunday - August 15th
Polonia Cafe
9:00 a.m.

Route: The routes for this years Polonia Cafe Ride will be essentially the same as the previous four years. Maps for the 12 mile, 25 mile, and 50 mile tours will be available before the ride. Ride begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Polonia Cafe just off of Highway 66, Northeast of Stevens Point. This year the Sacred Heart Church Picnic Does coincide with the ride date, so there will be many options for food and beverage after the ride. In addition, the Polonia Cafe will be open before and/or after the ride -  It is a small restaurant with limited capacity, so plan accordingly.

Where to Meet for Ride Start: Polonia Cafe: Take Hwy 66 to Polonia, right on County Hwy Z. Left at Ernie and Irene's Country Bar and Store. First building on the right. If you go past Sylvia's Country Bar and Store (on Z) you have gone too far. Riders should be reminded to please park behind the cafe near the ball diamond as the owners of the cafe do not like us to park in their lot.

Time: Arrive at 8:45 a.m. - rides begin at 9:00! (Allow no more than 1/2 hour from Stevens Point/Plover to get to the Polonia Cafe, unless you are riding your bike out there, of course!)

Maps for specific rides will be available the day of the ride at The Polonia Cafe.

Things to Remember:
  • The course will not be marked on the road.
  • You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out in front of your group.
  • Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
  • And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose to ride without a helmet.
