Waupaca Fall Color Ride

Saturday ~ October 9th
1:00 pm Start
Keith Murie's Place

N1262 East Road, Waupaca, WI 54981

A number of people have expressed interest in a fall color ride in the Waupaca area.

Here's the deal. We'll leave my place at 1:00 pm on October 9th. Whoever is there - is there. We'll ride as a group and at a pace that allows enjoying the scenery.

The Badgers play Ohio State that day - the time and TV channel to be determined - so if you want to bring some refreshments and watch the game for a while (if it's still on) that's cool.

No rain date - if the weather's crappy or the leaves don't cooperate, we'll wait until next year.

It would be appreciated - but not necessary, if you let me know if you are coming.

Directions:
Coming from Appleton or Stevens Point on Highway 10:
Exit highway 22 south and K.
Go South - away from Waupaca - about ½ mile, turn left at light onto County K.
You will go down a curving hill, then take a right curve around a mill pond.
The second left past that curve is East Road - turn left.
Go about 2 ¼ miles on East Rd - you’ll see a private road on the left called Songbird Place - turn left there - we are the first place on the left..

Coming from Stevens Point on Highway 54:
Turn right on county Q. Follow Q to QQ, turn right.
Turn left on highway 22.
Turn right at next light - highway K.
See above directions after line three

Note - these are the safe directions, there are slightly shorter ways to come if you are adventurous and have a detailed map. Call me at if you need help or have questions.

Things to Remember:
  • The course will not be marked on the road.
  • You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out in front of your group.
  • Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
  • And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose to ride without a helmet.
