6th Annual Door County
Ride
 Saturday, Sept. 18th
Sunday, Sept. 19th
Wagon Trail Campground Rowley's Bay, Door County
The main ride is on Saturday, Sept. 18th. Sunday is
also available for a short morning ride or some may prefer to shop!!
Most of us will meet at the Wagon Trail Campground on Rowley's Bay
(www.wagontrailcampground.com) on Friday evening (9/17), for a
some stories by the campfire. Depending on how many of us are going,
we'll try to get several adjoining sites.
The beginning
festivities are a potluck breakfast starting Saturday around 8 - 8:30 a.m. at the Wagon Trail
campground. The main ride will then begin usually around 10 a.m. at the Wagon Trail campground. We'll
head as a group north to the ferry and around the north tip of Door County. At some point
we will see who wants shorter or longer rides (maybe down to
Peninsula State Park - usually a metric century - 60 miles) for the rest of the day. As
usual, we'll provide maps but no sag wagon. We'll hopefully
have a potluck dinner for Saturday evening, with much storytelling
and tall tales.
In previous years some of us had a short
(35 mile) ride on Sunday down to the lighthouse to cap off the weekend.
The campsites are
about $27/night for 2 people. There are a few yurts (sleep 5) for $67/night
and the main lodge is more expensive.
Please e-mail me if you're
interested in a campsite or a Yurt or let me know if you'll be joining us for
the weekend but not staying at the campground with the group.
I would
like to have a definite idea of who is going by Monday 9/13 as I need to put
down a non-refundable deposit for how ever many camp (yurt) sites we need.

Things to Remember:
- The course will not be marked on the road.
- You will be responsible for getting yourselves back to the
start point. You will need to rely on the map if you fall back from, or get out
in front of your group.
- Even though we will be riding on country roads, remaining
single file or at most two abreast and on the right side of the road shows
respect for motorists, represents our club well and is highly recommended.
- And as always, you will receive disparaging looks if you choose
to ride without a helmet.
